Sgt. PEPPERS PARODIES
Believe it or not after 40+ years you'd think someone would come up with a decent parody of the classic seminal Beatles album Sergeant Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band, but alas with the exception of a rare few it looks like we’ll have to wait for another 40.
This is a collection of random offerings from the web, I’ve made notes where I think it’s appropriate.
Here’s the original and an alternative version never used and this link will take you to a previous entry that will tell you who’s who on the cover.
The Archies trying to be hip and failing. Frank Zappa released this album "We're only in it for the money" not long after "Sgt Peppers" and used a real Jimi Hendrix in the photo shoot.
This one was a very succesful poster from the Simpsons.
A Disney mash up (not completed)
The Rutles - Brain child of Eric Idle and Neil Innes is the bench mark for which all rock parodies are matched (yes, that includes Spinal Tap) but this cover for some reason was a total let down. Nevermind get the dvd and listen to the reissue CD. Brilliant stuff.
The one next to it is just a Monkee mash up, by people who still think the Monkees were a rip off of the Beatles.
-->Various nobodies plagiarising ideas.
more weird shit
Government protests LEGO??
Tribute mash up for the 40th Anniversary A hip hop mash up
A toy convention poster Taxi parody
The end.
Maybe Batman can solve the whole Paul debate?
