The Mysterious Geographic Explorations of Jasper Morello
The Mysterious Geographic Explorations of Jasper Morello
This marvelous Australian short film was nominated for both an Oscar and a BAFTA.
Why it didn''t win when the the less likable Harvey Crumpet did years before is beyond me.
Directed by Anthony Lucas and written by Mark Shirrefs, this Australian made gem is a wonderfully imaginative piece and the animation is superb and inventive.
With my new love of Steampunk it is fitting that this - one of my favourite films - can be featured in it's entirety for me to share with others.
This beautiful sci-fi animation spins a deep, engaging story of adventure and betrayal. Our hero, Jasper - an aerial navigator - is tormented by an accident in his past. A plague has over come his home city, he then is ordered embarks on a journey mark a new trade route with the Captain who whose ship Jasper had his fateful accident.
When the ship is blown off course the crew find themselves commadeering an abondanded ship toward an uncharted island.
It's on this island and the trip home that everyone discovers their destiny
Enjoy
It goes for about 26 minutes.

Steampunk recently has really grabbed my imagination and has sparked a creative urge in me to explore some of the marvelous fashions and contraptions that this genre inspires.
While trawling the net I come across this wonderful set of creations that seemed to explode around Christmas last year.
It is the steam punk version of Star Wars.
